The Curette

About The Curette

The Curette — Medical Sciences Journals — is a scholarly publishing division of ANVA Publishing.

A medical-sciences publishing platform

The Curette is a portfolio of peer-reviewed medical-sciences journals created to communicate clinical, biomedical, translational, and population-health scholarship. The portfolio combines a broad flagship journal with focused specialty journals so authors can place work with the readership best suited to evaluate and use it.

Purpose

Our purpose is to support clear, responsible, and accessible communication of medical research. Editorial assessment considers scholarly merit, methodological and reporting quality, relevance to the selected journal, research ethics, and integrity. The platform does not substitute promotion, payment, or unsupported credentials for editorial judgment.

Journal portfolio

The portfolio comprises The Curette, a multidisciplinary flagship, and journals in oncology, neurology, cardiology, infectious diseases, psychiatry and mental health, endocrinology, respiratory medicine, surgery, and public health and epidemiology. Each journal provides its own detailed Aims & Scope and subject coverage within shared publishing policies.

Who the journals serve

The Curette is designed for researchers, physician-researchers, healthcare professionals, reviewers, educators, students, evidence-synthesis teams, librarians, institutions, policy and public-health professionals, and readers seeking the scholarly medical record. Content is scholarly information and is not individualized medical advice.

Publishing principles

The platform values accurate reporting, fair assessment, appropriate methodological scrutiny, proportional claims, transparent declarations, patient and participant protection, and correction of the record when necessary. Commercial considerations, including article processing charges, do not determine editorial decisions.

Editorial independence

Editors assess submissions according to scope, quality, ethics, integrity, and contribution. Peer review informs editorial judgment but does not replace it. ANVA Publishing supports the publishing infrastructure; editorial decisions remain separate from payment and cannot be purchased or guaranteed.

Research integrity and medical responsibility

Medical publishing requires particular care for ethical oversight, informed consent, patient privacy, trial transparency, data and image integrity, authorship accountability, and competing-interest disclosure. The Curette maintains detailed policies for these responsibilities and may investigate concerns before or after publication.

Open access and accessibility

The Curette uses Gold Open Access. Authors retain copyright, and the Version of Record is normally published under CC BY 4.0, subject to clearly identified legitimate exceptions and third-party rights. The platform also works toward readable, navigable, and accessible scholarly information and provides a channel for reporting barriers.

Continuous publication

Articles may be published online after editorial evaluation, peer review where applicable, acceptance, production, and final checks without waiting for a complete issue. Articles may be organized into suitable volumes and issues. This does not imply a fixed publication frequency.

The digital scholarly record

Published articles, metadata, related files, and post-publication notices form part of the scholarly record. Material changes to a Version of Record should be transparent and linked through correction, expression-of-concern, or retraction notices where appropriate. DOI information is displayed only where assigned.

Responsible infrastructure development

Publishing infrastructure is developed incrementally with attention to security, confidentiality, workflow accountability, metadata quality, and operational resilience. Indexing, identifiers, memberships, metrics, and preservation services are communicated only after they are applicable and verified; ordinary backups are not described as formal preservation participation.

Relationship to ANVA Publishing

The Curette is a scholarly publishing division of ANVA Publishing. This relationship provides the platform’s publishing identity and operational setting without implying unverified society, university, hospital, registry, indexing, or professional-organization affiliations.
