Aims & Scope
Scope includes general, gastrointestinal, hepatobiliary and pancreatic, colorectal, endocrine, trauma, and emergency surgery; minimally invasive and robotic approaches; oncology; operative techniques; infection; perioperative medicine; complications; and enhanced recovery.
The journal welcomes trials, cohorts, audits with transferable research value, outcomes and quality studies, evidence synthesis, technology evaluation, and education research. Innovation should include appropriate validation, safety analysis, and limitations.
Readers include surgeons, anaesthesia and perioperative teams, nurses, allied professionals, researchers, educators, quality specialists, and those evaluating surgical technologies.
Scope boundary
Technique descriptions should offer evaluable value beyond routine practice. Novel devices and digital approaches require transparent safety, conflict, and validation information.
